Broker oQueue Updated to Version 1.2.1

Broker oQueue is back!

In what should be a rather unsurprising turn of events, oQueue has been resurrected and is now working with Patch 6.0.2. As such, Broker oQueue has also been resurrected.

Today’s update to Broker oQueue is only a small maintenance update to mark it as up-to-date with the Warlords of Draenor pre-patch. No new features have been added this time and all existing functionality remains the same as the previous version.

The new update is available for download from Curse and is now also available on Solid ICE! If you have any questions or feedback then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Enjoy!

Official Changelog:
v1.2 to v1.2.1

  • Marked as up-to-date with WoW 6.0.2.

Discontinuations

With the announcement of Patch 6.0 going live on October 15th, I am officially discontinuing three of my smaller projects. As of today, Broker oQueue, FuBar uClock and Colourblind Mode are now in an end-of-life state and will no longer receive updates.

The futures of oQueue and Broker oQueue were already in question and today’s announcements confirm that oQueue is officially dead. Because of this, Broker oQueue will no longer have a purpose and will cease to function.

A similar fate has befallen FuBar uClock, with FuBar itself recently being removed from Curse due to lengthy inactivity. FuBar has not received updates for a very long time due to the rise of LibDataBroker-based alternatives such as Bazooka and Titan Panel. FuBar uClock has been succeeded by its own LibDataBroker alternative, Broker uClock.

Colourblind Mode has also succumbed to the many changes arriving in Patch 6.0. Blizzard have decided to discontinue support of colour shaders in preference to a completely text-based solution. Colourblind Mode therefore also no longer has a purpose and will cease to function.

Broker oQueue, FuBar uClock and Colourblind Mode now join TourGuide: Lunar Festival and TourGuide: Midsummer Festival in happy retirement. They leave behind a legacy of satisfied customers.

I never like discontinuing projects but sometimes I have little choice. On the plus side however, it does free up some time and resources which I can apply to my other active projects instead. All of my other projects will continue to work fine when Patch 6.0 goes live next week and will continue to receive regular updates when they are needed.

Chinchilla Minimap Updated to v2.6.3

A couple of errors managed to slip past me in the last couple of updates. I apologise for this inconvenience. It happens to the best and worst of us, but the good news is most if not all of the bugs have been squashed and Chinchilla Minimap should be problem free once more.

As a bonus, Chinchilla Minimap v2.6.3 is now compatible with the upcoming Patch 6.0 and Warlords of Draenor beta test realms. It is not yet possible to hide or move the new Garrison Report button but the code is in place and will be “switched on” in a future release.

The update is available for download from Curse and WoWinterface. As always, please do not hesitate to get in touch if you encounter any problems.

Chinchilla Minimap Updated to v2.6.1

Patch 6.0 and the Warlords of Draenor expansion pack are getting ever closer but there is still time to keep everything working on the current release.

Chinchilla Minimap has been updated to v2.6.1, reverting several controversial changes in v2.6. Namely, the QuestTracker module has returned and the “invisible button” logic has been changed back to the previous “hidden button” logic. Any QuestTracker options that were moved to the Appearance module in v2.6 have been moved back to the QuestTracker module.

Be aware that Chinchilla v2.6.1 will cause errors if you install it into the Warlords of Draenor beta or the Public Test Realms. A new update to Chinchilla will be made available once Patch 6.0 reaches normal live servers.

The new version of Chinchilla is available for download from either Curse or WoWinterface. As always, if you find any errors or want to provide feedback, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

State of Development – August 2014

Warlords of Draenor now has a release date of November 13th 2014 and Patch 6.0 is due to hit live servers in September or October. Many addon authors, including myself, have been scrambling around making sure your favourite addons will continue to work when the patch goes live.

Here’s a quick summary of my current state of development:

  • Accomplishment – NO ERRORS.
  • AutoEquipQuestItem – NO ERRORS.
  • BigWigs Crowd Control – UNTESTED as I have not yet joined a raid in the beta.
  • BottleCap – NO ERRORS.
  • Broker oQueue – UNTESTED as oQueue’s future is currently unknown.
  • Broker uClock – NO ERRORS.
  • Chinchilla Minimap – WILL CAUSE ERRORS but an updated alpha package is available.
  • Colourblind Mode – NO ERRORS although major features currently do not work as advertised.
  • EPGP Filter – UNTESTED as I am not in a guild that uses the EPGP loot system.
  • EPGP Priority Output – UNTESTED as I am not in a guild that uses the EPGP loot system.
  • FuBar uClock – DISCONTINUED. Please download Broker uClock instead.
  • HandyNotes Hallow’s End – UNTESTED as HandyNotes and LibAstrolabe are causing errors.
  • HandyNotes Lunar Festival – UNTESTED as HandyNotes and LibAstrolabe are causing errors.
  • HandyNotes Summer Festival – UNTESTED as HandyNotes and LibAstrolabe are causing errors.
  • ItemGuard – NO ERRORS.
  • Jaedia’s Menagerie – NO ERRORS.
  • MogIt Highlighter – NO ERRORS.
  • PetEmote – NO ERRORS.
  • SignOn – NO ERRORS.
  • TourGuide Lunar Festival – DISCONTINUED. Please download HandyNotes Lunar Festival instead.
  • TourGuide Summer Festival – DISCONTINUED. Please download HandyNotes Summer Festival instead.
  • TradeSkillInfo – NO ERRORS but the recipe database will be out of date and a major update is in progress.
  • Visor2 GUI – NO ERRORS.

Amazingly, only the current v2.6 release of Chinchilla Minimap is known to cause errors with Patch 6.0 and I have since fixed the problems. Alpha packages v2.6-24 and onwards will work fine with the current Warlords of Draenor beta build, but will not work for Patch 5.4.8 live servers. A v2.6.1 release package for Chinchilla will be made available for download once Patch 6.0 is deployed on live servers.

Colourblind Mode will work without errors but the colour shaders introduced in Patch 4.3 either do not work or have been removed. I will keep an eye on this and hope that this can be fixed either by me or Blizzard themselves.

My main focus right now is to continue working on overhauling TradeSkillInfo, however I am making excellent progress and if everything goes well I hope to share the major changes in a future post. The majority of my other projects appear to be working fine and only need to be flagged as “up-to-date” in World of Warcraft’s addons list. Of course, if any errors do crop up I will investigate and fix them as soon as possible.

Happy testing, and I’ll see you in Draenor!
