Introducing “Pigeon”

Personal Information Gathering Electronic Online Nanodevice

Your Twitter client for World of Warcraft.

April Fools!

Yeah, I know. I am horrible. Maybe one day…

Today I am super exited to share with you a sneak preview of a top-secret project I have been working on lately.

Using the power of the new Twitter integration added to World of Warcraft in Patch 6.1.0., I have been able to create an addon that provides a live stream of tweets similar to TweetDeck.

Personal Information Gathering Electronic Online Nanodevice

What It Does:

  • A live stream of tweets direct from Twitter to Pigeon.
  • Send Tweets to Twitter in-game via a custom input box. (using Blizzard’s in-game window currently causes errors)
  • View all replies sent to you via the Interactions tab.
  • View and send private messages via the Messages tab.

What It Does Not Do:

  • User profile pics are green placeholder squares for the time being. This will be fixed soon.
  • You cannot favstar or retweet tweets from Pigeon yet. I do want to add this eventually.
  • You cannot attach pictures to tweets via Pigeon, but you can still attach screenshots via Blizzard’s in-game UI.
  • You cannot view gifs. I know, I am bummed too. Sadly this is a technical limitation in WoW and will never be fixed.

Pigeon is very early in development and is not yet available for download, but I am very excited to share with you the progress I have made and look forward to releasing a public beta Soon(TM).
